To store food for a long time, instead of buckets and oxygen absorbers you might try this technique using a food saver vacuum bags storage.

Long term food storage can be achieved without cans, buckets or oxygen absorbers. Using my techique you can vacuum seal food in a mylar bag and a food saver vacuum bags storage.

Because it is so smooth, its nearly impossible to draw air out of a Mylar bag using a vacuum sealer; until now! I made a little tool that allows you to use Mylar bags just like the regular food storage bags in a vacuum sealer. I hope this helps those who have experienced similar difficulties.

Greetings my Unconventional Amigos!!! Generally you can’t seal a Mylar bag with a food saver because the sealing area prevents air from being sucked out of the bag. I had the idea of using a piece of a standard food saver bag to provide an air channel and and using the food saver to provide a temporary seal, long enough so I could hit it with the iron. It works well. I hope this helps my friends here on you tube.
